A-journaling first we will go, she announced
to the motley clutch of seekers
gathered at The Labyrinth
on the first day of the Year,
each looking for more God
to strike them from within,
feeling the need for self-improvement,
prepared to walk a path of twists and turns,
this labyrinth of dirt defined by stones
laid out on hallowed ground,
metaphor, really, for Life ideally,
step by step, in logical sequence,
not helter skelter,
conforming to principles
both physical and metaphysical
that govern the Universe and
bring peace to the questing heart,
(she called it Sacred Geometry—
a wedding of ratio and proportion
beyond theorems Pythagorean),
following a path to the Iris of the
Cosmic Eye, then out again and away,
comforted by the inviolable
Laws of Creation, wherein God expresses,
taking their lessons with them,
leaving their footprints behind…

Many thanks to Beverlee for presenting me this beautiful poem after her experience at the annual Dare2create New Year Labyrinth meditation.
