Dear Friends,
Let us join together in sending prayers of comfort for all who were affected by the tragic office shooting at the Emcore Corporation, in Albuquerque, New Mexico today. Emcore, which has approximately 700 full time employees, makes parts that provide voice and data transmission over fiber optic lines. In addition they produce solar power systems for satellite and ground-based systems.
Let us surround all who work at the Emcore Corporation, in addition to all families, relatives and friends of those affected today with loving prayers of compassion, healing and peace from our own faith traditions.
Thank you,
Mitzi

Thank you Mitzi, and all who join in this prayer. I work just down the street from Emcore and we were in “lock down” most of the day as police swarmed the area. I searched for “prayer” related to Emcore, and yours was the first site. Blesssings.

So sad and yet God was/is there. What is the lesson we can learn from this? How can we use this horrible event as a turning point in the workplace?
Perhaps greater compassion and appreciation for each other would go a long way in preventing such acts of violence in order to be heard or out of pent-up resentment. We are all experiencing great pressure from multiple sides to change and evolve. For some, this pressure is the breaking point that blurs the lines between stress and madness. We never know who is walking that fine lined tightrope unless we become acutely tuned-in. Notice the disgruntled, hopeless, and apathetic. Befriend them with love, light, and humor. Don’t add to their stress; instead, try to reduce it by helping them vent their frustrations and redirect towards positive change. When we & others feel heard, without being interrupted, the sparks of frustration can be dissolved before ignition and the flames of anger extinguished before serious injury can occur.
