2009 has been a challenging year for many people.  Thousands have lost their homes.  This crisis has affected not only people but also animals across the U.S.  One of the hardest hit areas is Phoenix.  Each day I get many emails with pictures of beautiful dogs and cats who are on the "e" list — the euthanasia list. The shelters have no room–far more animals are coming in than being adopted and so to make room many animals are euthanized.  It is heartbreaking for those who work at the shelters and also for all who love animals.  These precious beings are just not given a chance to live.
